SaaS Operator & Investor

Job description:

Magma Partners is a leading Latin American venture capital firm. Founded in 2014, Magma has invested in 90+ top startups that are solving Latin America’s biggest problems, driving top tier returns for our investors.

We meet, analyze and review 1000+ startups from all across Latin America to invest in 15-20 startups per year.

We are looking for someone to lead our SaaS vertical. This is a hybrid investing and operations position. Your main duties will be to help current SaaS portfolio companies be more successful, including scaling, increasing sales, and operating their businesses. You should be comfortable getting your hands dirty, and deeply understand SaaS businesses in depth, including the growth levers, and risks to the business.

You will also be involved in the entire investment process, from sourcing, evaluating, due diligence, and investing in startups, working alongside partners Nathan Lustig, Claire Diaz-Ortiz, Pedro Pablo del Campo and the rest of our investment team. You will also work closely with our SaaS portfolio companies, attending and participating in monthly meetings with partners and founders of portfolio companies.

 You should love SaaS startups and be passionate about problem solving. The ideal person should have startup experience as a SaaS founder or early employee of a SaaS startup and has experience growing SaaS businesses to over $1M ARR, and ideally $4M ARR or more.

 Our team is fully remote and our portfolio has founders in 30+ cities around Latin America. You must be comfortable writing in both English and Spanish, communicating directly and clearly, and being willing to learn how to learn. Portuguese is a plus, but not required.

In addition to the above the ideal candidate:

  • Has significant experience working in or founding SaaS startups
  • Can converse in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a bonus.
  • Is comfortable writing 2-3 pages of analysis, ideally in English
  • Is comfortable working fully remote
