We have historically been more focused on Spanish-speaking Latin America and are looking to hire an Analyst based in São Paulo to increase our investment allocation in Brazil and support our current portfolio.
São Paulo based Magma VC Analyst
We are looking for someone based in São Paulo, Brazil to be a part of our investment team. You will be involved in our entire investment process across both Spanish-speaking Latin America and Brazil, from sourcing to evaluating startups and due diligence to investing in startups. You will also be involved in honing our thesis as it evolves across industries, stages and geographies via Magma-specific and public content like articles, blogs, podcasts and more.
You’ll be working closely alongside Nathan Lustig, Pedro Pablo del Campo, and the rest of our investment team. You will also work directly with our portfolio companies and participate in meetings with Magma’s partners and startup founders.
You should love startups and be passionate about problem solving and making Latin America a better place. The ideal person will have startup experience as a founder or early employee of a startup. About the Position
Our team is fully remote with people based in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile, investing across Spanish-speaking Latin America and Brazil. We’ve invested in founders in 35+ cities around Latin America, US and Europe that are trying to solve Latin America’s biggest problems. You should be fluent in Portuguese and comfortable speaking and writing in English. Spanish is a bonus. The ideal candidate will be a very direct communicator, enjoy writing, and is a high-slope person willing to learn how to learn.
Our team is close-knit and values driven. We expect the person who joins our team to be similarly mission-driven to help top entrepreneurs solve some of the biggest problems in Latin America.
Our goal is that after ~2 years, you will have a “Magma MBA” in startups and you’ll be ready to start your own startup, move to a top Latin American startup in a high level role, or continue to help build Magma to support the next generation of startups in Latin America. We believe that working on the Magma team, in any role, is a great way to jumpstart your career in the startup world.

- Has experience working in, founding or investing in startups
- Is fluent in Portuguese and can converse and write in English. Spanish is a bonus
- Is comfortable writing 2-3 pages of analysis, ideally in English
- Is comfortable working 100% remotely
